A cozy trek... A peaceful river.. A gentle hush of rushing ice cool water.. All this and more in Badian's Kawasan Falls!
Just 130 kilometers southwest of Cebu City and about three hours bus ride, the Kawasan Falls is located inside the mountains of Barangay Matutinao, Badian. From the entrance you will have to trek uphill for about thirty minutes, depending on your pace, to get to the first waterfall. Along the way, souvenir shops selling accessories such as beaded necklace, bracelets, and Kawasan print t-shirts are available for sale if you want to bring home souviners with you.
Kawasan has three waterfalls. The first one is mainly the largest of the three, and is usually the most crowded. An uphill climb for fifteen minutes will take you to the second falls, and another, to the third. You may bring in food, or buy from the resort's restaurants. Cottages and tables are also available for rent, as well as rooms for overnight stay. You may rent a raft to take you around the "pool" or for a refreshing "shower massage" under the falling water. Life vests are also available for a very affordable price.
The pathway may be very dark once the sun sets so its best to have a flashlight at hand. One should be extra careful in going down the slope especially those descending from the second or third falls to avoid mishaps or accidents.
Kawasan Falls is a popular get-away destination in the southern part of Cebu to locals and foreigners alike. With its lush tropical trees and plants everywhere, peaceful flow of the river as it gracefully rushes to the distant sea, the sound of the waterfalls on the background, friends and loved ones enjoying the cool and deep fresh water, everything around just seems so relaxed, simple and very serene.
Just nature as it should be.

beauties of the Philippines. I will be making my second trip to the Islands this
September and had already planned to visit the falls and other nature scenes.
Reading your article has made me even more anxious to visit and experience your
wonderful country.
guys, i want to share some of our pics in kawasan falls. pls copy and paste to
your web browser>>> http://share.shutterfly.com/osi.jsp?i=EeCNnLhi2YtGXi
in my memory as one of the BEST trip in my life :-) Peace, fresh air, wonderful
river, beautiful landscapes, the real power of the nature, fantastic views.
Kawasan Falls makes you say KAWASOME instead of awesome ;-)
Prestine river runs, Massive limestone overhangs w/ native
trees, moss' on rocks, overall landscape is awe-inspiring.
Locals are nice and welcomed us. Great place to escape from
hectic city life....like New York Metropolis. I would recommed
this nice place to all visitors in Cebu.
of that is its very long walk i will request for the way to go there in the
entrance and not parking area for private...... thats all tnx...
see their pics there,i got this feeling that i really have to go and get to see
the breathtaking kawasan falls...thanks to this page, this has added my
excitement!
with your loved ones
out things love to do. thank you
years ago. i wanna go back there to see what are the new things they have added
in the place.......kawasan, one of the collest places in town
go back this may 2006 hope to see you there....
Kawasan Falls, it is redundant. Just like when you say PIN number or ATM
machine. Well, just some enlightenment. I got this from my Philosophy professor
in college, the ever-energetic Boy Diluvio who is a native of Badian. Hello,
Sir and everyone in USC. I miss Cebu na jud, I'll be home soon.
and wow.....i love to swim there with my love one..hmmm..
their day time cottage and over night cottage. Lastly where can i call for
reservation?
Thanks
falls, there are people to help you carry your things for a fee of course its
not special there are better waterfalls in the country, Maria Chistina, theres
one in Lunga which you have to ride a small boat to get to. And many others
Kawasan is far from the best.
a great place to unwind. let the cool water wash away your problems. by the
way, last time i checked, the kawasan entrance is only 10 pesos and the
overnight cottage is 500 pesos.
in my elementary years. Though I've been there a lot of times already, every
trip to the falls i made always felt to me like its my first. I've always been
enchanted with natural land and water scape from the point i start walking on
the trail by the matutinao river up to the first, 2nd, and 3rd falls. The trip
alone is naturally kawasome (awesome), reaching the falls is a bonus you
recieved that tops everything beautiful you've seen and encounterd along the
way..
Anyone who says its less than beautiful is no less blind as a bat hanging
upside down in a cold dark cave.
the last time i went there was just about last week. me and my mountaineering
buddies took an 8 hour trek from osmeņa's peak to kawasan and the sight of it
just made the trek worth while......
there. I would love to come back-beautiful CEBU!

available rooms for us. thanks a lot! please email me at iconpool@yahoo.com

(i.e. moderator of this site)send me an email about cottage rates, entrance fee
per head, and food and drinks rate in there inhouse restaurant. I really need to
have a rough estimate as of the moment. I need to tag along friends from Manila,
I just want to make sure that before we'll finalize on our plan of visiting
Kawasan, we'll still be within our budget. Yah know, we need to be aware of that
also bec so as not to ruin our vacation extravaganza...
To Moderators of this site: I would really appreciate your feedback about this
endeavor, please send me an email. Thanks! More power to Cebu Central!

The water is so cool that makes you relax..
we have to take a long walk to get to the falls, the place is so cool, makes your
mind relax...when i 1st visited Kawasan Falls, i was so amazed...didn't think
that God's creation was so beautiful...."The coolest of all cools"...^_^
females and 1 male and how far it Kawasan from Cebu proper?
bags and things are envading, like much of the philippines. Business has taken
its grip at the falls, expect many people and not quiet, unless you go very early
or late. I have been to nicer place in philippines, but i wont say, because its
even nicer....come and explore for yourself.... I will give one clue.... its the
island called fire island..... and near cebu...

in willys places don kami nag stay
maganda don 1st falls call 09069608646
gift of nature.Yes its true, the place is nice but not forever since some people
who are coming in and out in that place are too cruel to throw their garbage
anywhere and i hope you are not one of them.
We took a Ceres Bus Via Barili. The bus fare from Cebu to Badian costs 105
pesos. Before you reach the falls, u have to pay 10 pesos for the entrance fee.
You have to wear slippers so that it's easy for you to walk on some rocky paths.
When you reach the first falls, there are already small cottages worth 300 pesos.
For those rooms for overnight, it costs from 800 to 2000 depending on the number
of persons who will occupy then. You have to bring your own food because the food
there are very expensive. Even the softdrinks like the Litro Size Coke cost 45
pesos. Imagine twice the price. If you want to wear life vests, you have to pay
another 30 pesos. If you want to experience to go under the falls and have a
natural massage, you can ride on a bamboo raft that costs 300 pesos. Whew, so
expensive huh! but it's worth naman.
How i wish, i have a house in Badian so that anytime i could take a swim in it's
cool waters and have a refreshing and relaxing feeling. " So kamo dira, Tara na sa
Kawasan!"
