Ben&Ben, a nine-piece Filipino indie folk-pop band from Manila, emerged in 2016, initially as The Benjamins, led by twin brothers Paolo and Miguel Benjamin Guico on acoustic guitars and vocals.
The band expanded to include Poch Barretto on electric guitar, Keifer Cabugao on violin, Patricia Lasaten on keyboards, Toni Muñoz and Andrew de Pano on percussion, Agnes Reoma on bass, and Jam Villanueva on drums. Their music, blending folk, pop, and indigenous elements, has garnered praise for its emotional depth, focusing on themes like love, loss, and self-discovery.
Their journey to prominence began with their self-titled EP in 2016, featuring hits like “Leaves” and “Kathang Isip.” Their debut album, “Limasawa Street” (2019), achieved critical and commercial success, with “Pagtingin” winning the Awit Award for Best Performance by a Group Recording Artist. The follow-up, “Pebble House, Vol. 1: Kuwaderno” (2021), earned the Awit Award for Album of the Year and was named one of the 25 best Asian albums by NME.
With over two billion streams on Spotify, Ben&Ben holds the record as the most-streamed Filipino artist, charting multiple songs on Spotify Philippines Top 50 simultaneously.
Their accolades include an Asia Artist Award, an Aliw Award, a NME Award, two Myx Music Awards, three Star Awards, and sixteen Awit Awards, placing them 29th on the Billboard Social 50 chart in 2020.Beyond music, Ben&Ben advocates for mental health, environmental awareness, and digital well-being, enriching their cultural impact.
