Miss Cebu 2012 Coronation Night

Thursday, January 12th, 2012

Truly Cebuana. Grace, poise, brains just a few qualities that Miss Cebu has produced over the years. Last night at the Pacific Grand Ballroom of the Waterfront Hotel and Casino, 21 year old, Pierre Anther Infante was crowned as Miss Cebu 2012.

The prestigious pageant didn’t fail to impress as the 12 candidates strutted their evening gowns inspired by archeological artifacts found in Cebu. All were made by Cebu’s prominent designers.

As awe-inspiring were the dresses, the candidates proved that they were more than just pretty faces, the question and answer portion was at the same time very impressive. Each candidates has different advocacies that they would want to accomplish through Miss Cebu.

But what made Infante stand-out was her answer to the final question-and-answer: The slogan is “What’s new in old Cebu.” While globally, eco-travel is the new concept, as Miss Cebu, how would you start or strengthen eco-tourism in Cebu?

She answered “I’m proud to say that I have already started just by joining Miss Cebu. All the activities that were lined up for us, I was able to experience so much wonder about Cebu. There is more to Cebu just like adventure. And we were able to learn that there’s a lot to see environmentally and so we have to start there and do what we can to keep that environmentalism alive. Just like taking care of what we have here in Cebu, and trying to enjoy it and share it with everybody else, not only in this generation but of the future generation.” and it had won her the crown.

She was also awarded Best in Evening Gown designed by Cary Santiago, who was also awarded Best Designer.

Miss Cebu is organized by the Cebu City Government through Cebu City Tourism Commission and Cebu City Tourism Foundation, Inc.

A Stage Play about Child Pornography and Human Trafficking

This season, Focus Productions and Services proudly bring to the stage “PIRING” (blindfold) – a reflective portrayal of one of the most controversial
issues in our country and the world today – Child Pornography.
It shows the interplay of how poverty and parental influence greatly affect a child’s well-being.

It is in this light that “PIRING” will hopefully serve as an eye-opener and move to propagate and wield a child’s basic and fundamental rights – the right to
education, a healthy environment, and the right to live and to be loved.

“PIRING” is written and directed by Mr. Loyd Wilson Sato.

Wednesday, June 8th, 2011

Sepia Events and Productions Philippines will stage the first MUTYA SA SUGBO 2011 this July 28, 2011 at the Waterfront Cebu City Hotel. This pageant is participated by 18 lovely candidates who proudly hail from different parts of the island of Cebu.

Its mission is to provide opportunities of a lifetime for Cebuanas to challenge them to expand their horizons while providing a means of giving back to their commitments to their respective communities.

The pageant also seeks to showcase the positive qualities and virtues of Cebuanos. The pageant envisions to create role models out of its young and active participants. Far from being just an ordinary beauty pageant, MUTYA SA SUGBO 2011 is about promoting Cebuano cultural awareness and to bring out the best of Cebu for the entire world to appreciate.

The Finalists entail a great deal of responsibilities to be a role model to the youth. They have to be strong enough to stand and carry the banner of MUTYA SA SUGBO 2011 and pursue the vision and mission of SEPIA Events and Productions. The organizers have designed a series of socio-cultural involvement programs, tourism magnetism, workshop enhancement skills, social responsibilities awareness and environmental-concern activities.

As part of this pageant, MUTYA SA SUGBO 2011 will also play a role in uplifting the lives of the less fortunate. Part of the program proceeds will be for our financial aid to our chosen beneficiary, Catholic-run charitable institution, The Holy Spirit of Freedom Community “HSFC” of Guadalupe, Cebu City on their Abandoned Street Kids Rescue and Outreach monthly feeding program.
