Miss Cebu 2012 Coronation Night

Truly Cebuana. Grace, poise, brains just a few qualities that Miss Cebu has produced over the years. Last night at the Pacific Grand Ballroom of the Waterfront Hotel and Casino, 21 year old, Pierre Anther Infante was crowned as Miss Cebu 2012.

The prestigious pageant didn’t fail to impress as the 12 candidates strutted their evening gowns inspired by archeological artifacts found in Cebu. All were made by Cebu’s prominent designers.

As awe-inspiring were the dresses, the candidates proved that they were more than just pretty faces, the question and answer portion was at the same time very impressive. Each candidates has different advocacies that they would want to accomplish through Miss Cebu.

But what made Infante stand-out was her answer to the final question-and-answer: The slogan is “What’s new in old Cebu.” While globally, eco-travel is the new concept, as Miss Cebu, how would you start or strengthen eco-tourism in Cebu?

She answered “I’m proud to say that I have already started just by joining Miss Cebu. All the activities that were lined up for us, I was able to experience so much wonder about Cebu. There is more to Cebu just like adventure. And we were able to learn that there’s a lot to see environmentally and so we have to start there and do what we can to keep that environmentalism alive. Just like taking care of what we have here in Cebu, and trying to enjoy it and share it with everybody else, not only in this generation but of the future generation.” and it had won her the crown.

She was also awarded Best in Evening Gown designed by Cary Santiago, who was also awarded Best Designer.

Miss Cebu is organized by the Cebu City Government through Cebu City Tourism Commission and Cebu City Tourism Foundation, Inc.

Tablea Chocolate Cafe Cebu 6th Branch Opening

The chocolate addicts have more reasons to celebrate as Tabléa Chocolate Café opened its sixth branch in in less than 18 months at J Centre Mall AS Fortuna, Mandaue City last November 15, 2011.

Tabléa founder Aya Garcia Shlachter took her mother’s traditional recipe and translated it into a chocolate café with a modern touch.

TCC incorporates Tabléa into its many beverages. Hot drinks include Traditional Filipino hot chocolate with muscovado sugar; Sipping hot chocolate (Tabléa blended with European chocolate) and spicy Mexican hot chocolate. Ice blended chocolate Frio drinks are made from TCC’s own Tabléa syrup. TCC offers a complete array of Tabléa-based desserts. Filipino classics like Polvoron and Ensaymada are punched up with the infusion of Tabléa. Cinnamon-sugar coated Churros pair perfectly with a cup of Sipping Hot Chocolate and TCC’s signature Chocolate Covered Cacao Beans deliver the bittersweet taste of pure chocolate the way it was meant to taste.

They also launched their new Tabléa Chocolate Truffles Collection that includes delectable tablea-based truffles in Coconut, Chili, Dark Chocolate and Espresso flavors, perfect gifts this Christmas.

Great Things Happen!

The launching of Blue from American Express, the country’s first transparent credit card, was held at the Penthouse.  The credit card aims to cater to younger consumers, with their endorsers none other than the members of the Philippine Football team – Azkals,  Phil and James Younghusband, graced the event.

4th Cebu Young Designers Competition 2011

The 4th Cebu Young Designers Competition has proven once again that Cebu is exuberant with creative individuals.
It was no surprise that most of Cebu’s known designers and Cebu fashionistas were present to support the event.
The Cebu event was also graced by no less than Gov. Gwen Garcia.

This year’s theme was “Asia Tropic Style” which showcases the “New Asia” fashion.

The competition had two divisions – Accessories & Apparel.

The judges were renowned in the fashion industry – the World Furniture Designer Mr. Kenneth Cobonpue, Fashion Designer Ms. Arcy Gayatin, Fashion Editor Ms. Daryl Chang, among others.

Bagging the P25,000 cash prize was Julius de la Cruz for the Accessories Division and the winner for the Apparel Division was Pinky Magalona, for her shredded chiffon, bagged a 2-year scholarship at the School of Fashion and the Arts.

Cebu Business Month 2011 – Launching & Press Conference

Cebu‘s economic landscape has sustained the momentum of growth over the years. This year’s Cebu Chamber of Commerce and Industry launched it’s annual Cebu Business Month at the Marco Polo Plaza Cebu Hotel last May 4, 2011. The industry hopes to push businesses to go beyond boundaries.

The CBM 2011 aims to inspire, educate and guide emerging and existing entrepreneurs in the development of their businesses, elevating them to the “next level” and beyond.

The event focuses on breakthroughs in ICT & BPO, Tourism and Entrepreneurship by organizing ICT & BPO conference, Expos, Seminars, to name a few, for the entire month of June.

The launching was attended by businessmen and prominent government officials, Mayor Mike Rama, Vice Mayor Joy Young and Vice Gov. Agnes Magpale.

Beauty Health & Wellness Show 2010

Acknowledging that there is a growing awareness on health and wellness, Cebu Chamber of Commerce and Industries had once again held a successful Grand Opening of the Beauty Health & Wellness Show 2010 at Ayala Center Cebu last Nov. 10, 2010.

This year, they partnered with the Wellness Organization Worldwide, Philippine Wellness and Spa Association and the Spa and Wellness Association of Cebu, aiming to promote healthy lifestyle not just for Cebuanos but the rest of the country and Asia.

The Cebu event gathered 44 exhibitors that will share their latest beauty products, wellness discoveries and latest innovation in beauty and wellness. Aside from that, Beauty Health Wellness Show 2010 offers a lot of activities such as healthy cuisine demos and contest, the wellness entrepreneurship seminar, spa management workshop and dance sport competition.

PACQUIAO and PLDT myDSL WatchPad: A Winning Tandem
