Stylish travel with Make Your Own Havaianas
Every fashionable jetsetter knows that staying stylish while in transit is just as important as getting to one’s destination. A big part of enjoying any trip, whether for leisure or work, has to do with making sure one looks and feels comfortable yet chic for any and every occasion. Comfort and style take the top spots when it comes to dressing appropriately for trips both local and abroad. One has to consider the country’s culture and climate – but it doesn’t necessarily mean that you have to push your personal style aside for it.
Havaianas “Happy Soles Will Travel to Brazil” contest winner and fellow Cebuano, Farrah Lapinid, agrees. “I make sure that I am dressed appropriately for the weather,” says Farrah, “so before leaving for my destination of choice, I make sure I monitor the local temperature and pack my outfits accordingly. I check ahead what activities are in the travel itinerary, so I’d know how to dress for the beach, outdoor activities, museums, and restaurants. I also make sure that my clothes and footwear can be mixed and matched. Also, accessorizing is key! Finally, comfort comes first, so I make sure to dress practical yet stylish. Your choice of comfortable footwear can spell the difference in having the greatest fun on your trip. We wore Havaianas most days during our trip to Brazil and not only were they very comfortable, they were also very fashionable and everyone on the streets of Sao Paulo and Rio de Janeiro was happily wearing them!”
Havaianas puts the spotlight on making sure that one’s personal style is fun and fuss-free, letting stylish travel be as easy as slipping into your favorite pair of Havaianas. “Havaianas has the ‘Always Summer’ campaign for 2011. It’s all about celebrating the joy of summer and the fun, carefree vibe that it yields all year round. To strengthen our brand’s conviction, the 6th annual Make Your Own Havaianas brings people closer to the countries that celebrate style across the globe,” says Anne Gonzalez, Managing Director of Havaianas Philippines.
For this year’s Make Your Own Havaianas, the world’s favorite flip-flops brand highlights stylish personal travel. Coffee Dream Benedicto College branch, along A.S. Fortuna St., was packed with people from the mainstream blogging groups of Cebu.
After several minutes of introductions, chit-chat and enjoying coffee, the founder and president of Coffee Dream, Mr. Glenn Anthony Soco, took the floor, officially welcomed everybody and talked about Coffee Dream.
The first Coffee Dream was opened at the fourth level of Ayala Center Cebu in 1996. From there, they have expanded to 24 branches with several franchises all over the country. This year marks their 15th anniversary and they’re in the middle of re-branding Coffee Dream with a new logo and gradual re-designing of the interiors of their branches starting with those in Cebu.
As a home-grown company, they’re using local designers like Cham Lopez, Jaja Pareja and Kai Igot, for their re-branding. Also, Mr. Soco emphasized the fact that they are using locally produced coffee beans. He mentioned that Coffee Dream is using a combination of Robusta and Arabica coffee roasted to their company’s specification – medium-dark. From here, they aim to “purvey only the finest coffee to the local communities”.
Also, Coffee Dream has started food offerings. Coffee Dream’s menu offers all-day breakfast, sandwiches and pasta.
The re-branding of Coffee Dream will be seen as a good turn-around from the usual image of a regular coffee shop. Better service and a more personal experience would surely bring in more patrons for what is a great example of a home-grown Filipino company.
