Soli-Soli Festival

  Named after the Soli-Soli plant which abounds the Lake Danao, its freestyle street dancing competition uses soli-soli plant as its dominant material.

  

Buhing Kalbaryo

  During the Lenten season, the Buhing Kalbaryo Foundation Inc. will have for its Lenten presentation the following events:

  Bendita sa Lukay on Palm Sunday at the Guadalupe Parish Church, the Trimphant Entry of Jesus Christ at the San Nicolas Church Patio. - Street Passion Drama to portray every station from San Nicolas Church to Guadalupe Parish Church Sugat on Easter Sunday at Guadalupe Parish Church followed by the Easter Mass.

Pasko Sa Kasakit (Semana Santa Sa Bantayan)

  A unique mixture of solemn religious rites with its life size statues in procession and local fiesta celebration highlights the Holy Week activities in Bantayan Island.

  The normally quiet island is visited by relatives and friends of the residents, as well as tourists to experience the sceenic rites and cool off the summer heat in the beautiful white sandy beaches and clear tropical water.

  Showcases the "Sugat" in which the town is known for many years.

  

Haladaya Festival

Daan Bantayan

  Is celebrated every Easter Sunday and ends with a streetdancing on the seventh day after Easter.

  Haladaya means "Halad kang Datu Daya", the leader of the first Malayan settlers in Daan Bantayan. Highlights are the fluvial parade where patron saints of the different barangays will be placed in decorated bancas and paraded in the sea; Puto Festival is a cooking competition for the famous "puto balanghoy" and the street dancing competition where the community shows the heroism of Datu Daya and the celebration of victory, life and good harvest.
