A taste of Embassy SUPERCLUB in Cebu

Thursday, November 5th, 2009

Cebuano partyphiles went out and dressed up on halloween night to be at CICC and experience Embassy Superclub, the undisputed dance club in the country.

Embassy Superclub, brought a new meaning to clubbing here in Cebu. With only the best DJ’s, DJ Owen and Martin Pulgar, it’s hard not to get on your feet and groove to house and techno music.

They gave tribute to the King of Pop, Michael Jackson with their mix of the Thriller and it sure kept the house pumping. With lights pulsing and hearts pumping, Cebuano partyphiles experienced a dance-till-you drop partey.

With a huge turn out, it’s no surprise to Atty. Donato Gonzalez of Threesome Events, why Cebuanos came to the event. To him, “Cebu has been known to be the Entertainment Mecca of the South but is a bit deprive of experiencing what a SUPERCLUB is.” Bringing Embassy to Cebu is bringing Cebuanos to Embassy’s doorstep. Normally, in Manila, there’s a long queue before you can get in or be on their guest list and not to mention, its pricey. His answer as to why Cebu, is simply “because its CEBU!” and he qouted the DJ’s of Embassy, “Cebuanos really know how to party”. He would like to thank the Cebuanos for the very warm reception and for giving them the chance to host one of the biggest and perhaps, grandest indoor party in Cebu’s recent history.

Aside from Embassy Superclub DJ’s, they flew in ABS-CBN’s 26K dancers and the Honey Bees. Not all came though because some were bumped-off because of the typhoon in Manila.

Cellphone units were given to the Best in Halloween Costume – Brian Lim (wearing a costume inspired from the movie “300″ and a lady dressed as a witch in a one-piece tight suit.

Due to public demand, “Embassy Superclub” will be back in Cebu come Sinulog 2010.

Halad Inasal Festival

Sunday, October 18th, 2009

Roasted pigs dressed in scrub suit, riding a motorcycle, in a two piece bathing suit? Those were some of the scenes you’ll find in the annual Halad Inasal Festival in Talisay City, Cebu.

The Halad Inasal Festival, commenced with a parade of what they’re famous of – the Lechon or Inasal.
The scrumptious roasted pigs were paraded starting at Sta. Lucia, Bulacao going to Talisay Central School via the South Reclamation Project (SRP) route.

There were more than 20 participants who showcased their lechon, garbed in various themes depending on the participating company’s motif. Floats were adorned with lechon shaped breads, puso (hanging rice) and colorful flowers and balloons. Some floats were conceptualized as a lechon.

Aside from the inasal parade, a dance of colorful costumes filled the streets as participants of the street dance competition awed the audience with their enthusiasm and energy as they interpret the halad song.

This annual celebration is a thanksgiving for their patron saint, Sta. Teresa de Avila.
