Ferro comes to Sinas’ rescue
CEBU, Philippines — Police Regional Office (PRO)-7 Director Albert Ignatius Ferro came to the rescue of National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) Director and former PRO-7 Chief Debold Sinas, saying the present controversy the latter is in should not define his previous accomplishments.
In a press briefing with reporters Thursday morning, Ferro said Sinas has been known for his various accomplishments back when he was still the PRO-7 Chief until he was the NCRPO Region Director.
“It was not from me, it was from you, it was from the media that the good Major General Debold Sinas was a good Regional Director. And it won’t define the issues, the intrigues that is being (thrown) against him,’” Ferro said.
He appealed to the public to let the investigation proceed, as it was also reported that Sinas’ has already been placed under investigation at the National Headquarters.
“I think a person should not be crucified unless the necessary due process is given to him,” he said.
The former PRO-7 director and current NCRPO chief is now in hot water after photos of his surprise birthday celebration circulated online. The celebration reportedly violates the protocols while NCR was on Enhanced Community Quarantine.
Ferro added that despite the controversy that Sinas is now facing, he calls the people ‘to not forget the good things that he has done in Region 7 and NCRPO.’
“But again, we should respect the decision of our higher authorities to conduct an investigation,” Ferro said.
Ferro added that, during this time of crisis, the people should be passionate, kind and understanding to not crucify anyone and to just let the investigation take its couse. GAN (FREEMAN)
