Suroy-Suroy Sugbo relaunch to showcase southern heritage trail
CEBU, Philippines — A week before the official re-launch of Governor Gwendolyn Garcia’s pet project, Suroy-Suroy Sugbo, the governor said that ample preparations have been made by the local government units to ensure that visiting guests are properly accommodated.
“Kani sila maningkamot man gyud ni sila nga maka-showcase to the best gyud nga they can,” Garcia said referring to the mayors.
Suroy-Suroy Sugbo will be held from November 15 to 17. The tourism caravan will follow the Southern Heritage Trail starting from the municipality of Minglanilla and concluding in the City of Talisay.
“I think there will be another meeting with the mayors and the tourism officers soon so that we could get further update,” the governor said.
The guests, according to Garcia, will be using three to four tourist buses. She said provincial buses will not be used for the caravan to make sure that participants are comfortable.
Garcia also emphasized that the number of participants will depend on the number of rooms available. The Province of Cebu has partnered with hotel franchising chain Oyo Technology and Hospitality Philippine for the upgrading and quality check of the hotels and resorts included in the caravan.
