CEBU, Philippines — A civil engineer and his fiancé were arrested Thursday after the police allegedly caught them on the act of having a drug session in Barangay Mohon, Talisay City.
Police identified the suspects as Brandon Arbon, 43, and Emily Marilao, 24. Police Captain Mikhail Mallorca, deputy chief of Talisay City Police Station, said a team of policemen responded to a complaint from a Grab driver claiming he was mauled by Arbon and his friends.
The driver claimed he had an argument with Arbon over his fare which allegedly led to him being mauled by the suspect. Mallorca said when the responding team arrived at Arbon’s residence, they allegedly saw in plain view two sachets of drugs and sniffing paraphernalia.
Arbon denied he owned the evidence confiscated by the police.
Meanwhile, operatives of the City Intelligence Branch of Cebu City Police Office arrested a suspected high-value target during a buy-bust operation yesterday morning at Unit 3 Carbon Market in Barangay Ermita.
CIB chief Police Major Randy Caballes, who led the operation, identified the suspect as Jeramil Macabali, 19, resident of the same place. Police considered Macabali as high value target in the region.
Seized from the suspect was 175 grams of shabu with an estimated value of P1.2 million. The suspect is now detained while waiting for the formal complaints to be filed at the prosecutor’s office on Monday. BANAT News (FREEMAN)
