P4 million drugs seized in Inayawan bust
CEBU, Philippines — Almost P4 million worth of suspected shabu was recovered in two separate anti-illegal drugs operations in Barangay Inayawan, Cebu City yesterday.
The anti-drug operatives of Pardo Police Station, led by Police Major Regino Maramag Jr., arrested Kevin Cabornay, 21, a resident of Barangay Tisa, in a buy-bust operation at around 2:05 a.m. in Sitio Lomboy.
A covert cop posed to buy a sachet of shabu from Cabornay and consummated the sale before arresting him.
Cabornay yielded 55 grams worth of shabu with an estimated value of P374,000.
Maramag said Cabornay is a high-value target and is listed on the station’s drug watch list.
An hour later, police arrested Angelito Insila, 21, in Sitio Kaluwasan of the same barangay.
Police seized from him 500 grams of shabu with an estimated market value of P3.4 million.
According to Maramag, Insila is a high-value target who became a big time pusher after his big boss was arrested for illegal drugs.
“He is considered a high-value target. We have been monitoring him but he is very elusive,” Maramag said.
However, he is still considered a downline and is receiving direct orders from his boss in the Cebu City Jail.
Maramag said Insila distributes shabu in Inayawan, Talamban and Tisa.
“He has a boss who is detained in the Cebu City jail. We are expecting to arrest more members of their network,” he said. — MBG (FREEMAN)
