CEBU, Philippines — An alleged drug pusher was killed in an alleged shootout with police officers during an anti-illegal drug operation in  Sitio Hawod, Barangay Bulacao, Talisay City Wednesday afternoon.

Rene Mañosa alyas Tambok, resident of Villa Bulsita in Cebu City, suffered gunshot wounds to different parts of his body.

Initial investigation revealed that San Fernando police coordinated with Talisay City police after they tracked down Mañosa’s location.

During the buy-bust operation, the suspect sensed he was transacting with a police poseur-buyer and tried to escape.

Mañosa reportedly pulled out a gun and fired at the cop.

Back-up operatives were forced to retaliate, hitting the suspect.

Members of Talisay Rescue Emergency Action Team (TREAT) tried to revive Mañosa, but failed.

Police recovered one revolver with two live ammunitions and one empty shell from the suspect.

Aside from the firearm, police also recovered one medium and 20 small sachets of illegal drugs from the suspect. — KBQ (FREEMAN)
