SEVEN persons were arrested for allegedly sniffing illegal drugs in a series of operations on Wednesday dawn, December 6, in Barangay Poblacion, Danao City, Cebu.
Suspects were identified as Arnel Bejoc, Reynaldo Calzada, Vicente Corales, Ellen Marie Formentera, Glenn Formentera, James Parot, and Luis Gonzales Jr.
Chief Inspector Gerard Ace Pelare, the city police commander, said they confiscated 10.50 grams of white crystals believed to be methamphetamine hydrochloride, locally known as shabu.
The contraband is worth P145,000, a Dangerous Drugs Board value.
Pelare said Bejoc, Calzada and Corales were reported to be playing an illegal coin game, locally known as hantak, on Juan Luna St., Poblacion.
When his team arrived in the place, they caught the suspects were already having pot session around 1:50 a.m.
Around 2:55 a.m., the Formentera siblings, Parot and Gonzales were caught sniffing “shabu.”
Seized from the suspects were 11 packs of “shabu,” five disposable lighters, 18 tin foil strips and 23 pieces of hand-rolled tissues.
Complaints for violating Sections 11 and 12 (possession of illegal drugs and paraphernalia) of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, will be filed against the suspects. (KAL/SunStar Cebu)
