PDEA catches 2 suspects in early morning drug raid

TWO suspects were caught in drug bust by Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Central Visayas operatives in Barangay Lower Pakigne, Minglanilla, Cebu around 4:15 a.m. Monday, November 13.

The suspects are identified as Evangelyn Medalla, 49, and her alleged customer Sharon Alicaya, 33.

Medalla has been listed as a high-value target, according to PDEA Central Visayas information officer Leia Albiar.

Suspects yielded 23.5 grams of white crystals believed to be methamphetamine hydrochloride, locally known as shabu with an estimated market value of P117,500.

Operatives placed Medalla under surveillance for a week and confirmed her illegal activity.

Medalla allegedly can disposed of 100 to 200 grams per week.

Complaints for violating Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, will be filed against the suspects. (KAL/SunStar Cebu)
